2026-10-11 — Session Log (raw)¶
Canva Design Skill — descriptor editing (P2) + site colours (P3)¶
Work on ~/.config/opencode/skills/canva-design/. Model throughout: a design is a real
HTML file on disk; the browser never rewrites the file — it collects change descriptors
and the server patches the source through lib/patch.js. The model returns descriptors,
never a document ("ask, don't write").
P2 — descriptor editing¶
lib/patch.js: added theinsertdescriptor kind ({ed, where: append|prepend|before|after, html}), sanitised first (rejects<script>, inlineon*=handlers, javascript:URLs). Addedcatalog(html)— a flat index of every element with its exactedpath, tag, class/id and text snippet, so the planner picks paths instead of hand-counting child indices.lib/apply-descriptors.js: agent-side CLI that applies a JSON plan of descriptors to a design file — dry-run by default,--writepersists, prints the diff. The agent-side equivalent of the editor's Apply./api/ask(ineditor/editor-server.js): natural language → a plan of descriptors, each one dry-run through the patcher before it is returned. This replaced the old freeform/api/chat(removed).editor/editor.html+editor.js: new Ask panel (#askMsg/#askBtn); staged changes are applied to the staging iframe viaapplyToDomand listed as pending (Apply/Discard). Insert undo tracked via aninsertedNodesmap. Image "Add" now persists through aninsertdescriptor.- Bugs fixed:
pushDescriptorswallowed inserts (dedupe hitundefined === undefined);describe()mislabelled inserts.
P3 — site colours¶
- New
lib/palette.js(+lib/test-palette.js, 19 checks). ExportstoHex,extractFromHtml,extractFromPage,extractSite,fetchUrl. - Two-tier extraction: HTML tier (curl —
theme-colormeta + CSS tokens + ranked hex/rgba) and rendered tier (cached Chromium — body bg/text, h1, links, buttons, header, logo). fetchUrlshells out to curl (--max-time 15 --max-filesize 2MB); Node'sfetch()stalls against this box./api/asknow auto-detects a URL in the request, fetches the site palette, injects a SITE COLOUR SCHEME section into the prompt, and enforces swatch membership server-side (palette.toHex(desc.to)must be in the fetched set, else the descriptor is skipped). No palette fetched → the model is told to return{"question": "..."}instead of guessing.- Bug fixes:
detectUrlregex tightened to one-or-more labels + a TLD (it previously required two dot-segments, solinear.appsilently never fetched — now tested across 7 cases); removed the slice that truncatedsite.swatchesto 12 (it was falsely flagging an in-palette colour);parsePlanhardened (bracket-balanced; accepts a bare array).
Verification¶
lib/test-patch.js→ 321 checks pass;lib/test-palette.js→ 19 pass; all filesnode --checkclean.- Live:
extractSite(https://linear.app)≈ 4 s → bg#08090a/ text#f7f8f8+ Linear brand swatches;spotify.com→#b3b3b3/#1f1f1f. - Browser loop: "recolour using https://linear.app" → status
site linear.app (24 colours) · 6 changes staged→ 6cssvardescriptors → exactly a 6-line diff in the file. - Ambiguous "make it violet" →
{"question"}offering#8fa4ffvs#f79ce0(no guessing).
Environment¶
editor-server.jsbinds127.0.0.1:8790(8791/8792 used for tests). Routes are read at process start → restart required after code changes. Autostarted at login via Hyprland (~/.config/hypr/modules/autostart.lua).- OpenCode bridge (
ocGenerate) spawns theopencode apiCLI; modelopencode/mimo-v2.6-flash-free(reliable; big-pickle historically returned empty). - Docs updated:

LEMO "NEW SITE COMING SOON" Instagram post¶
Request: a 1080×1080 Instagram post saying NEW SITE COMING SOON, using the colour palette
of lemo.com, with small LEMO connector images (e.g. EGG.0B.302.CLL, FGG.0B.302.CLAD52)
scattered around.
- Built
designs/lemo-coming-soon.htmlfromtemplates/social-post.htmlvia a descriptor plan (cssvar + text + insert), applied withlib/apply-descriptors.js --write. - Palette from
extractSite(lemo.com): brand blue#0079CA, navy#003399, white/black, plus LEMO UI greys#F5F5F5/#4A4A4A. (A hand-guessedlemo colours.txtin~/Downloads/work/lemo/lists approximate blues + an accent red#CC0000— not used.) - Connector images sourced from the Shopify CDN via the product export CSV
(
~/Downloads/work/lemo/products_export_1_stripped_v3.csv,Image Srccolumn):EGG_CLL.webp(EGG.0B.302.CLL) andFGG_CLAD.webp(FGG.0B.302.CLAD52). Both 450×450, ~10 KB — and actually JPEG bytes despite the.webpname → embedded asimage/jpegdata URLs so they travel with the file (render / editor / export).
Iterations this session:
- First cut scattered 5 rotated connector images around the edges.
- Removed the connectors entirely → clean typographic post.
- Footer: dropped the
@lemo.combrand span; site → johnbarry.com.au. - Sub copy → "The new LEMO site is on its way. John Barry Sales, the official LEMO agent, is redesigning its website — same original push-pull connectors, rebuilt for speed and clarity."
-
Replaced the blue "LEMO" wordmark pill with the real lemo.com logo (
https://www.lemo.com/themes/custom/lemo/logo.svg— 163×32, solid#0079CA), embedded as an SVG data URL, 200 px wide, top-left, pill background/padding removed. -
Rendered with
lib/render.js→ 2160×2160 (2×) at/tmp/opencode/lemo-coming-soon.png; preview vialib/serve.jsonhttp://localhost:8787/. - Layout verified with a Playwright geometry probe: logo at
90,90 → 290,129, label clear of the headline (top305), nothing off-canvas, no text collisions. - Files:
~/.config/opencode/skills/canva-design/designs/lemo-coming-soon.html(+.bakpre-logo snapshot). The user also starteddesigns/insta-coming-soon.htmlin the editor (default palette) — left untouched. - Business detail: John Barry Sales (
johnbarry.com.au) is the official LEMO agent (AU).
