Cleanup Candidates¶
Potential removable packages (check before deleting — some are dependencies of active tools):
- Browsers: Only keep one — google-chrome vs microsoft-edge-stable-bin
- Icon/GTK themes: buuf, fluent, gruvbox, morewaita — only need the one(s) actually in use
- geocode-glib-2 / geocode-glib-common: check if anything depends on these
- gtk-engine-murrine: dependency, only needed if a GTK theme requires it
Dependency Check (2026-07-29)¶
| Package | Required By | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| google-chrome | none | Safe to remove if Edge kept |
| microsoft-edge-stable-bin | none | Safe to remove if Chrome kept |
| buuf-icon-theme | none | Safe to remove if unused |
| fluent-gtk-theme-git | none | Safe to remove if unused |
| fluent-icon-theme-git | none | Safe to remove if unused |
| gruvbox-gtk-theme-git | none | Safe to remove if unused |
| gruvbox-icon-theme | none | Safe to remove if unused |
| morewaita-icon-theme | none | Safe to remove if unused |
| gtk-engine-murrine | gruvbox-gtk-theme-git | Keep only if gruvbox theme kept |
| geocode-glib-2 | gnome-clocks, gnome-maps, gnome-settings-daemon, libgweather-4 | Keep unless GNOME apps removed |
| geocode-glib-common | geocode-glib-2 | Keep while geocode-glib-2 kept |
Bottom line: Browsers + themes are all freely removable (nothing depends on them). geocode-glib-2 chain and gtk-engine-murrine only go if their dependents (GNOME apps / gruvbox theme) go too.
